Former Lou Fusz SC Goalkeeper Ben Yeager has been recognized recently for his consecutive shutouts at Saint Louis University during their recent undefeated run in Atlantic-10 Conference play.
Yeager, who played for Lou Fusz SC King 96/97 since the U13 age group, and later LF Carotenuto 96/97, had an excellent youth career. He lead his teams to multiple State Cup semi final appearances and most recently a Missouri State Cup silver medal with the Lou Fusz Carotenuto team at the U19 division.
Yeager has recently broken into the starting 11 at NCAA Division 1 powerhouse Saint Louis University in his sophomore season. In his 2 career starts he has posted 2 shutout victories and compiled 10 saves along the way.
In addition to Yeager’s back to back shutouts at Dayton and Rhode Island, he tallied 6 saves in a 2-1 victory over conference rival George Mason. The only goal against him coming from a deflected own goal by one of his defenders.
